Prep for the workforce!  Our computer class for intermediate users will have you updating your resume and polishing your professional online persona in no time.  Covered topics include editing a resume and cover letter, working with files for job applications, professional email communication, LinkedIn basics, and more!  This free class is designed for adults who are confident using a computer.

Upon completion of this four-hour class, participants will receive a free refurbished laptop from the Kramden Institute.

Covered topics include:

Computer Basics Review

  • Learn about key Windows features and settings (files, apps, updates, & virus protection)
  • Review everyday computer skills

Office Programs and Resumes

  • Office program suites commonly used in professional settings
  • Formatting and editing a resume and cover letter in a word processing program
  • Customizing documents for job applications
  • Downloading and uploading files for job applications

Professional Online Life

  • Keeping accounts secure
  • Keeping personal and business information private
  • Avoiding job scams
  • Professional email communication
  • LinkedIn basics for maintaining a professional presence online

Connecting to Additional Resources

  •  Overview of local and online resources to help class participants continue their learning
