Join the Friends for a Pizza Party! 
We'd love for you to join us as we celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week. 
Come learn about the Goldston Friends group, see some of the projects we are working on and and learn of projects we've completed.  
When: Thursday, October 23rd from 5-6 pm
Where:  E.M. Harris Conference Room at the library

We have been awarded a $1,000 grant from United for Libraries and Penguin Random House. We were the only Friends Group in North Carolina is receive the grant. The money has been used to purchase and assemble bilingual "Go, Book, Go" bags for early readers. So far ten bags have been completed and are being processed for circulation soon. Ten more bags are in the works.

We have also been awarded a $500 grant from Randolph EMC as part of their Sharing Success Community Grants program. The money from this grant will go towards STEM Kits that will be available for checkout. Kits are expected to be ready in the next few months.

Our silent auction fundraiser was a great success!

The auction ended at the close of Old Fashion Day, October 11, 2025.

FOGL member Barbara Hengstenberg's beautiful book themed quilt raised $225. 

FOGL member Jan Ross's lovely felted work of art raised $100.

Monthly Friends Meeting

The Friends of the Goldston Library typically meets the 4th Thursday of each month at 6pm in the meeting room at Goldston Public Library. There will not be a December meeting.  All are welcome to join us!

    Join us for a weekly free build LEGO session in the E.M. Harris Jr.  Meeting Room. Work alone or in a team. Create from scratch and tell us about your creation! Duplo blocks are available for our youngest builders.

    Looking for a fun and creative space to craft?  Join us on the first Thursday of each month from 5:30 - 7:30 in the E.M. Harris Jr. Conference Room.  Bring a project that you're working on, such as knitting, crocheting, felting, drawing, painting, writing, etc. and enjoy the company of fellow crafters in your community.

    Join the Goldston Writers Group on Wed., October 22nd at 10:30 am.  Participants will discuss their personal work at the beginning of the session with the purpose of giving/receiving feedback.  The second part of the session will allow participants a safe space to practice the craft of writing.
