News and Updates Watch for the Friends at the Goldston Christmas Parade! ******** Santa Claus will visit the Goldston Library on December 19th at 4pm! And Mrs. Claus will be with him! The Friends of the Goldston Library have received a legacy from the Rebecca Watson Revocable Trust. Becky Watson loved the Goldston Library and supported the library in many ways. Often times she loaned and also gifted some of her personal collections to be exhibited in the big display case by our entrance. Watch for her Christmas village that is always displayed in December. ********* We have been awarded a $1,000 grant from United for Libraries and Penguin Random House. We were the only Friends Group in North Carolina is receive the grant. The money has been used to purchase and assemble bilingual "Go, Book, Go" bags for early readers. So far ten bags have been completed and are being processed for circulation soon. Ten more bags are in the works. We have also been awarded a $500 grant from Randolph EMC as part of their Sharing Success Community Grants program. The money from this grant will go towards STEM Kits that will be available for checkout. Kits are expected to be ready in the next few months. |
Our silent auction fundraiser was a great success! The auction ended at the close of Old Fashion Day, October 11, 2025. FOGL member Barbara Hengstenberg's beautiful book themed quilt raised $225. FOGL member Jan Ross's lovely felted work of art raised $100.
